Halloween is the one time of year your clients give you permission to have fun. A flash of red, a hint of witchy purple or a ghostly white tip can turn a classic set into the talk of the party, without the commitment of a full colour set.
The best part? You don't need a whole new kit. A tray or two of colour lashes and a clear glue are enough to offer a Halloween add-on this month.
1. The Vampire

Deep black with a slash of blood red through the outer corners. Use Noir Silk Volume for a dense black base and blend in Red on the last third of the eye. Keep the red to the longest lengths so it catches the light when she looks up.
2. The Witch

Purple and green are the classic witch colours. Mix Purple and Green into a black set, or go bolder with Neon Purple and Neon Green for a look that glows in party lighting.
3. The Ghost

White tips on a soft black base look eerie and elegant at the same time. Place White extensions every few lashes along the top layer, so they float above the black.
4. The Pumpkin

Warm and playful rather than scary. Blend Coral and Yellow through the outer corners, or try the Ombré two-tone lashes for a ready-made fade.
5. The Dark Glam

For the client who wants Halloween without the costume. Dark Chocolate and a few Gold lashes give warmth and sparkle that still works for the office on Monday.
My tips for colour sets
- Use a clear glue. Black glue shows at the base of colour lashes. Fierce Clear disappears into colour and brown lashes and cures in 1–2 seconds.
- Start small. Most clients are happiest with colour in the outer corners or as a sprinkle through the top layer. It's easy to add more at the next infill.
- Show, don't tell. Put a finished colour set on your Instagram stories in the week before Halloween. Clients book what they can see.
- Offer it as an add-on. A small charge for a colour sprinkle on top of a normal infill is an easy yes for most clients.
Questions lash artists ask
Can I add colour to a client's existing black set?
Yes. At an infill, place colour extensions on new natural lashes as you go. It's the easiest way to try colour without redoing the whole set.
Which glue should I use for colour lashes?
A clear glue, so nothing dark shows at the base. Fierce Clear is made for coloured and brown lashes.
How much colour should I use?
Start with the outer corners or a light sprinkle. Your client can always go bolder next time.
Will the colour lashes look different from black ones on the eye?
They're the same 0.07 thickness as our volume lashes, so they fan and sit just like your usual set.
Happy Halloween!
