Lash Glue Guide: Which Adhesive is Right for You?

Lash Glue Guide: Which Adhesive is Right for You?

Why Adhesive Choice Matters More Than You Think

Your lashes can be perfect. Your technique flawless. But if your adhesive doesn't match your working speed, your salon environment, or your client's sensitivity — retention will suffer. The right glue makes everything easier. The wrong one makes everything harder.

The Key Factors to Consider

1. Your Working Speed

This is the most important factor. Adhesive dry time must match how quickly you apply extensions. If you work slowly and use a fast-drying glue, it'll cure before you place the extension. If you work fast with a slow glue, you'll have poor bonding. Be honest about your speed — especially if you're still building up.

2. Your Salon's Humidity and Temperature

Cyanoacrylate adhesives (the base of all lash glues) cure by reacting with moisture in the air. Higher humidity = faster curing. Lower humidity = slower curing. Temperature also plays a role — warmer conditions speed up curing.

Always check your salon's humidity before selecting your glue, and recheck it seasonally. A glue that works perfectly in summer may be too slow in a cold, dry winter studio.

3. Client Sensitivity

Some clients are sensitive to adhesive fumes. For these clients, a low-fume formula or a slower-drying adhesive (which typically has fewer fumes) is worth considering. Always perform a patch test for new clients where possible.

Lash Heaven Adhesive Guide

Fierce Black — For Speed Focused Artists

Dry time: 0.5–1 second. Our fastest adhesive, designed for experienced artists who work quickly and want maximum efficiency. Ultra-thin consistency for clean, precise placement. Ideal humidity: 45–65%.

Intense Black — The High Performer

Dry time: 1–2 seconds. Strong, flexible bonding with low fumes — making it suitable for sensitive clients. Works well in cooler and more humid conditions. The choice for artists who want power and reliability. Ideal humidity: 40–60%.

Pearl Black — The All-Rounder

Dry time: 1–3 seconds. The most forgiving adhesive in our range — ideal for artists building their speed, or those who work in variable conditions. Excellent retention up to 7 weeks. Ideal humidity: 50–70%.

Fierce Clear — Invisible Finish

Dry time: 1–2 seconds. Crystal-clear formula for coloured or brown lash work. Low fumes and a thin consistency. The go-to for lash artists working with anything other than black extensions.

How to Maximise Retention with Any Glue

  • Shake your adhesive for 30 seconds before use and replace the dot every 15–20 minutes
  • Prime lashes before application to remove oils and residue
  • Work in the correct humidity — invest in a hygrometer for your salon
  • Use Superbonder FIXATION after the set to seal the bond and eliminate fumes
  • Store adhesive correctly — sealed, upright, away from heat and light
  • Replace after opening within 4–8 weeks for best performance

A Note on Patch Testing

Always recommend a patch test 24–48 hours before a first appointment for new clients. Apply a small amount of adhesive behind the ear or in the crook of the elbow. This simple step protects your clients and your reputation.
